Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine

1. Dept. of Medicine, Veterinary College, Bidar is engaged in Under-graduate and post graduate teaching after unification of Clinical and Preventive Medicine as per the MSVE regulations of VCI 2006. The Department is offering seven UG courses as per MSVE regulations. The post graduate programme was started in 2010-11 and fourteen students have completed M.V.Sc. till 2014-15.

   As a clinical department, it is also engaged in giving clinical service to the farmers through the treatment of animals apart from training the UG and PG students in the clinical expertise. On an average Medicine O.P.D handles 6000 cases per annum apart from analysis of 1500 clinical samples for laboratory diagnosis. Every year department is contributing about two to three scientific articles in reputed scientific journals and 10-15 abstracts in compendium of abstracts of National conferences. Faculty is participating regularly in the advanced trainings and national level conferences. The Department is conducting refresher training programmes for the Veterinary Officers as a part of continued Veterinary education.
