City Veterinary Hospital APMC Yard, Gandhi Gunj, Bidar

  1. Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and   Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar has established Veterinary Hospital, Animal Disease Diagnostic laboratory and Information Centre in the year 2006 at APMC yard premises (appr.4000 sq.ft area). Since then it is serving for the benefit of farmers, livestock owners in treatment and diagnostic aspects. Over 4000 cases per annum of different species for different diseases are being treated each year. Apart from treatment of animals, this centre is being used for offering under graduate courses, gives clinical practice training to under graduate (B.V.Sc. & A.H) students, internship students of different colleges and officers, staff of the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services of Bidar district, Govt. of Karnataka as a part of continued veterinary education. At present the centre broadened its area to10000 sq.ft to facilitate different activities in this centre. Recently, KVAFSU has established Critical Care Unit under ICAR sponsored experiential learning unit. The Institute is well facilitated with modern operation theatre, In-Patient wards and modern equipments Viz., Binocular microscope, Dark field microscope, X-ray machine, Ultra sound Unit, Vital sign monitor, Electro cardiograph machine, Automatic blood cell counter, Biochemical analyser, urine analyser and distillation unit etc., for diagnosing and treating variety of cases. Hospital activities are monitored by clinicians of different specialization (Medicine, Gynaecology and Surgery) and supported by well educated skilled man power and 24 X 7 security guard services that enable to improve value of services rendered by this institute.
