Brief Profile:
Dr. S. Mallikarjunappa was appointed as Acting Vice-Chancellor with effect from 31-05-2008. Dr. S. Mallikarjunappa born on 23.09.1950. He did his B.V.Sc. during the year 1974 from Veterinary College, Bangalore. He obtained his M.V.Sc. from IVRI, Izatnagar during 1976 and his Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition from NDRI, Karnal during 1981.
He joined the university service in the year 1976 and has served as Research Assistant at U.A.S., Bangalore from 1976 to 1982. He has served as Assistant Professor at U.A.S, Bangalore from 1982 to 1986. From 1986 to 2005 worked as Associate Professor, and Assoc. Prof. & Head in the Department of Animal Nutrition, U.A.S. Dharwad. He has worked as Prof. & Head, Dean and Director of Extension at KVAFSU, Bidar from 2005 to 2007 before taking over as Dean, Veterinary College, Shimoga during September 2007.
He has guided 8 PG students, served as Member, Advisory Committee 30 students and has published over 50 research papers and presented several papers in various seminar, symposia, workshop etc.
He is instrumental in development of Veterinary College, Bidar and Veterinary College, Shimoga as Dean and presently KVAFSU, Bidar as Vice-Chancellor.
